Alice Pasquini (1980)
The Italian artist began painting in the streets in 1999, attracted by the excitement flowing through Rome’s independent scene. She found street art totally different from the elitist and overly-conceptual approach taught at art school where, she recalls, her professors continuously repeated the mantra ‘art is dead’. The spontaneity and romance of painting in the streets appealed to her more, her artistic universe, inhabited by women.
