Shepard Fairey (1970)

Having emerged from the skateboarding scene and attending the Rhode School of Design, Shepard Fairey had built a strong base for his artistic career by the year of his graduation in 1992. He had already spent three years printing t-shirts and skateboards with his signature imagery and was covering cities with his “Andre the Giant has a Posse ” stickers. For Shepard, 2008 was when his fame came to pass, creating the now iconic Hope poster for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
