FAITH XLVII (b. 1979)

Faith XLVII’s work is a powerful fusion of social activism, personal expression, and transformative processes. Drawing on the metaphor of alchemy, she envisions a better world, where using art forms a bridge into transmuting the harsh realities of a fractured society into a possibility for change. Born in South Africa, her practice began in graffiti during the late 1990s, where she developed a profound sensitivity to the socio-political struggles around her.
